The auction will be preceded by the auction for the Women’s Premier League (WPL), which is expected to take place on December 19. Unlike a mega-auction, each squad can retain the majority of their players ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. There are no restrictions on the number of players who can be released or retained1. Each franchise must spend a minimum of three quarters of their total purse which is set at INR 100 crores – five more than last year1. As per a report, IPL teams need to submit the retained and released players list by November 26th.
